The Disney Corporation Headquarters and Disney Studios are both located in Burbank,
CA. It is also true that Disney World in Orlando, FL; draws more visitors a year today than Disneyland; but, in 1955,
Walt Disney's biggest dream became reality in Anaheim, CA, where Walt Disney himself made his
Magical Kingdom come to life for the very first time. Today, the City of Anaheim is not only the Disney Capitol
of the World, but one of the wealthiest cities in the United States, and one of the Top Five Convention Cities in America
as well. Along with Disneyland, Anaheim also hosts, Disney's California Adventure, Downtown Disney Shopping District,
and Disney Ice in Downtown Anaheim. When Disney bought an NHL Expansion Team in 1993, he didn't bring
it to Burbank or Orlando. They are now The Anaheim Ducks (Stanley
Cup Champions in 2007).
Orange County, CA:
Orange County is set apart from The Southland as a Metropolitan Area (Division)
with two Urban Centers/Major Cities:

Santa Ana is the 9th largest city in California, and 51st in the United States. Though it is
the County Seat, and has a larger population than Anaheim does, it has no real economic impact on the surrounding communities.
Anaheim, on the other hand has total economic impact the Orange County Metro Area, and surpasses both
the Cities of Santa Ana and Long Beach in wealth, power, and international tourism. Orange County is far more centered economically
on The City of Anaheim than it is on the City of Los Angeles, and that, sports fans, is what sets Orange County apart from
The Greater Los Angeles Area. Anaheim ranks as number 10 in California, and number 56 in the United States.
The Disneyland Resort is not only the economic heart of Anaheim, but all of Metropolitan Orange County.
If it were still up to Downtown Los Angeles as an economic monolith, and if the Disneyland Resort had never been built, most
of Anaheim and Orange County would still be a big rural community in the middle of an orange grove today. But it isn't a rural
community becuase of the major economic monolith we know as The Anaheim/Disneyland Resort.
A Metropolitan Division is a Metro Area in itself, but not an independent
one as it is part of a "Consolidated Metropolitan Statistical Area." The Consolidated MSA here is referred to
as "The Southland (Formal Listing: Los Angeles-Long Beach-Santa Ana)." This Consolidated MSA, plus The Inland Empire, is
what Arte Moreno was aiming at with his name change, not the City of Los Angeles. "The Southland" is a Consolidation
of two Metropolitan Divisions.
