Since Arte Moreno changed The Angels Name from Anaheim Angels to Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, I went from being an Angels Fan to and Angels Basher. Mostly my bashing was aimed at Arte Moreno and the slap in the face he gave Anaheim and Orange County four years ago. I did that for about 4 years. At the end of the 2009 Major League Baseball Season, I have decided to retire from Angels Bashing.

Below are my final Angel's Bash entires which were posted on the Orange County Register's Website:

________________________________________________

August 22, 2009: "I think they have won the only title they are ever going to win, at least in my lifetime. Someday, all the prodigal Dodger Fans will come home."

August 23, 2009: "Blood Tests of The Angels Players are the only thing that will slow down that team. Otherwise, The MLB can wait until the Ploy-offs like the last few seasons and watch them be blown out in the first round. If one uses enhancers during the Play-offs, he will get caught."

August 21, 2009: Wel"Well, they can't win them all. (in Response to Article "Angels Lose to Cleveland").

August 20-21, 2009: "Whoever they play, it will be an early exit like the last few years. Use PED’s during the play-offs, you will get caught, and cheaters never prosper....As for The Angels, I think something is wrong. I have seen how they played when PED’s was in the Spotlight during the first half of the season, and what’s going on now. If I am wrong, I have to find that out on my own. If I do find out I am wrong, there will be apologies made."

August 18, 2009: "How do you respect "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (did I word that right????)How do you respect False Advertising? How do you respect cheaters? How do you respect an owner who picks fights with the Dodgers Organization and tries toget fat at The Dodger's expense? You guys have no respect for Manny, which is understandable, so don't expect everyone (in fact, everyone) to respect The Angels. The Harris Poll revealed The Angels as being the Most Unpopular MLB Team in America in 2008. Read the writing on the wall. They aren't getting the respect you think they deserve, because they just don't deserve it, PERIOD.,,,

The Dodgers are True Blue Los Angeles Baseball-win or lose.

"Arte Moreno is a cheat and a fraud, and apparently so are a lot of the players. They don't do well in The Play-offs for reasons relating to an old wise saying-"Cheaters never prosper."

"GO DODGERS! I jsust want that team out of Orange County ASAP because they have disgraced it one to many times, while The Ducks and The Flyers have brought much honor to the Anaheim/Orange County Area. First there's the Disgruntled Chicano act of making the Anaheim/OC and "Appendage," and now the PED's. I still believe all the Angels Players need to be tested as soon as possible when they least expect it. If players use PEDS during the Post Season, they are going to get caught, which may account for the team's collapse in the Post Season year after year."

August 14: "The so called roll The Angels have been on since the All Star Game makes me very suspicious. They have gone to great lengths to try to get out from under being The Dodgers’ Red Headed Step child. Last season the team was the only one to win 100 Games in the post season as the frequently had these “Freak power surges.” When the first round of the play-offs began, hey played like they didn’t belong there. They were humiliated the first round. Manny got busted for PEDS, and all of a sudden the issue of PEDs use was once again in the spotlight during Manny’s 50 game suspension. During that time, The Angels were struggling in comparison to the previous few seasons they have had. When Manny’s 50 game suspension was over, and PED’s was again out of the spotlight prior to the all star break, The Angels started having these freak power surges again. Yes, this Red Headed Sep Child of The Dodgers would do just about anything."

August 9th, 2009: "Last year, The Angels were the only MLB team to win 100 games. In the middle of the Summer 2008, The Angels dominated the Boston Red Sox during a three game series. The Red Sox was beat by buku runs during that series. The Angels Team exhibited Freak Power Surges pretty much throughout the entire 2008 Season just like they did during that Summer Series with the Red Sox. Then came the post season, when The Anaheim Angels would once again face the Boston Red Sox. Anaheim couldn't even touch the Red Sox. The Halos played like they didn't even belong in the Post Season, probably because they didn't belong there. How do you explain all this? Well, I do know one thing. I players use PED's during the play-offs these days, they are going to get caught. So, the players don't use PED's anymore during the post season."

"Let's think about this. Manny Ramirez got caught using PED's at the very start of the season, and received a 50 game suspension which really didn't hurt The Dodgers too much as they remained a long ways out in first place in the NL West. During that time, the awareness of PED's was once again brought out in the open to where MLB players need to think twice before using. During this 50 Game Period which Manny willingly paid his dept and served the 50 game suspension, The Angels were not producing nearly what they were in 2008. After Manny served the suspension, the issue of PED's in Major League Baseball began to fade into the background. Right after the All Star Break, The Anaheim Angels Freak Power Surges suddenly started up again, even though their best players, including Tori Hunter, are on the DL. I am not making any formal accusations that Arte Moreno and The Anaheim Angels are cheating, and using PED's, but there is enough writing on the wall here that I have strong suspicions."

BASH POSTS ON MLB MESSAGE BOARDS:

August 11, 2009.

"Arturo Moreno is a cheat and a fraud, as he capitolized on the Dodger's City and has ontained a lot of revenue from this False Advertising Venture. The City of Anaheim is not L.A; it is O.C (it's just that L.A. and O.C. are both Metro Divisions of the same Metropolitan Statisical Area [MSA]--The Southland). Anyway, The Dodgers and their fans don't like the False Advertising The Angels have been embarking on the last few years. It's wrong, dishonest, and greedy no matter how much revenue that organization has gotten from it. One of the reasons Moreno and his goons are doing this is they want The Dodger's piece of the pie in The Southland Metro Area. The Angels LP is trying to turn the Small Market Anaheim Angels into into The Dodgers at The Dodgers expense. Frank McCourt has taken a lot of evasive action against the Greedy Angels Front Office, which has sparked animosity in The Angels Fan Base.

The Angels-Dodgers is a business Rivalry and Turf War, where The Dodgers-GIANTS is a Baseball Rivalry, much like The Yankees-Red Sox. The Dodgers-GIANTS Rivalry has been around since both these teams were in NYC over 50 years ago. They even have Dodgers-GIANTS Toss Across Games and Chess Sets."

"I grew up with The Angels, and I use to like them a lot. I was overjoyed when the Anaheim Angels won the World Series in 2002. Then, The Angels were a small market Orange County Franchise and proud of it, and I was proud of them, being a Native of The OC. Of course, I also liked The Dodgers as they were in a different league. Then, Arturo Moreno and his Brown Noser Bandwagon Followers/Fans came into the picture after 2002 and ruined Angels Baseball. Now all I want them to do is lose, which seems to be the only way of getting rid of that Front Office and those arrogant fans."

"TO OTHER MLB FRANCHISES, (Particularly American League)."

"I realize that a lot of people like seeing The Angels get humbled in the post season, but stop giving them a free ride for crying out loud. Stop Choking away big leads and given freebie wins to The Angels, especially late in the game. Let them earn their way to the Post Season. While a lot of Dodger Fans would like to see a Freeway World Series, but they would prefer to play an American League Team which actually belongs there even more."

"GO DODGERS!

"Don't get me wrong. It's a long shot at best that These AL Teams are allowing one arrogant franchise to get to the post season only to llok like fools because they don't belong there. However, I am seeing Al Teams holding significantr leads and then they send a fresh pitcher out late in the game, and that pitcher starts throwing casaba melons over the plate. It's happening every other day practically. Once more, the pitcher who's racking up unearned runs doesn't get pulled. "

"Ortiz was caught in 2003 and people are making a big issue of it now? Talk about digging up old bones. Earlier, late 20th Century and earliest part of the 21st (200-2003) a lot of people were using, because nobody was even paying attention. Today, David Ortiz is a philanthropist and a good man on and off the field. As for Manny, his doctor made a booboo early in the spring, and the prescription turned out to be on the banned list of substances. Manny willingly served his suspension. What suspension did Matthews serve. There is no proof that Manny or Big Papi were ever using in 2004 and 2007. Yes, some of the 2002 Anaheim Angels were using too."

"There is, ufortunately, Greed and Corruption running rampant in Major League Baseball which is what perpetuated the use of steroids in the first place. The Axix of Greed in MLB consists of Spineless Bus Selig, The Steinbrenners, Arturo Moreno, and Scot Boras. "

Beginning of 2009 Season:

"What I seem to recall is that Disney bought a mediocre team from Jackie Autry, and sold a World Series Champion to Arte Moreno. There is the bit where The Angels started to tank a little bit before Disney sold to Moreno, and a lot of that was just like you said--because of injuries. Arte did keep the momentum from dying out, and he has kept it going. I credit him for that, but that's all he should be credited for.
"

"As for what else you have pointed out, even if it is dangerous on a fan forum, the whole thing about the name change was targeting the Latino Community. In fact, I don't think any Anaheim/Orange County Franchise would be marketed as Los Angeles, unless the Latino Populous was the sole or chief target. Just about everyone has heard about Anaheim/Orange County throughout The USA and Canada, and there's hardly anyone who CAN'T make the connection to the Los Angeles Media Market."

"However, I really don't think Arte is a Racist necessarily. I think he is a man who is extremely proud of his Ethnic Heritage, and people who are can sometimes go a little overboard and do things that racists do without realizing they are doing it."

"There is nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage which hails from another country. But to take it to such an extreme as this, you are shutting out all the other fans. Again, Baseball is about ALL of the fans. To tell you the truth, I am very proud of my heritage, and I have never even been to that country. But if I were an owner of a team, I don't think I would show up for every game in the Owner's Box in my Kilts, or fire the stadium organist who has served the stadium well so many years, and hire Bag Pipers instead. And I certainly wouldn't get rid of a key player in order to acquire one whose last name is MacGregor, even though he isn't as good as that key player. (LOL)."

"I would be more concerned with what the fans want then what I want. The fans in Anaheim/Orange County want Anaheim or Orange County Angels, I would give them Anaheim or Orange County Angels. In the last few posts I have only been agreeing with what GITM has been saying. But, those are not big issues with me. In fact, I hope the people who have disagreed with me are right and I am wrong. My one and only issue has been Fan Disloyalty in The Angels Front Office. The loyalty has been totally replaced by apathy and arrogance towards the Anaheim/Orange County Community who has been The Angels gracious host the last 40 years and the fans who reside in that community. A lot of that apathy and arrogance has been shared by people like you, LIU, Boofdog, Deucester, just to name a few. That, I am not wrong about. If any of you are part of that Front Office, I can only imagine."

"In the last 4 years, I have become a Fan of two Baseball Teams: 1) Long Beach Armada in the GBL, and 2) The Dodgers in The National League, and most of the reason is because of the teams loyalty to the fans, and because fans, families, and the love of the game come first."

"I have said all I need to say about Fan Loyalty and its importance, and there is no need to say anymore. The Season is about to start for The Dodgers and The Armada, and now I need to shift my attention to them. By the way, your team played a great exhibition game against our Dodgers today."

"I have always understood the marketing strategy behind the name change, believe it or not. I also agreed with the court verdicts, because The Angels Front Office did nothing illegal. What I didn't like all that time was the greed and disloyalty and apathy towards the local fans and the OC Community, which were the forces behinf the name change. Baseball is about THE FANS. Any marketing strategy which involves disloyalty and apathy towards the fans and the community , isn't good, no matter how lucrative it is, because the fans always must come first. Unfortunately this is not the case with the current Angels Front Office and as a result, Dana Parsons of The LA Times is correct--The Angels are a cursed team.

EARLY TIMES:

"The Angels sell a lot more tickets and Angels Mechandise than any of the other pro teams based in Orange County. Nobody is disputing that, especially with The Flyers, as they are a Minor League franchise, and Minor League Teams can only accompany 3000 or so spectators. I am saying that these other teams do value the Anaheim/Orange County Area and do very well with what litlle they do have. I am also saying that they are viable alternatives for Orange County Reisdents who are still bothered by The Angels being called Los Angeles."

"Last I heard, only 33% of The Angels' sell-out crowds were from Orange County. I can't say that the number of Orange County Residents who do attend Angels Games is greater than the number of OC residents who attend The Anaheim Ducks Games (or visa versa) because I don't know for sure. I can say that most of the spectators are from L.A. County. Anyway, all the major sports (MLB, NFL, NBA, and The NHL) in Southern California draw people from all over Southern Cal, no matter which geographical name the team may use."

"BTW, The Angels are NOT the biggest thing in Soutern California. Like it or not, The Dodgers and The Lakers are."

"1) Are their any players or managers in Baseball's Hall of Fame with Angels or Dodgers Uniforms?

ANGELS: 0.
DODGERS: 8:

Roy Campanella
Don Drysdale
Sandy Koufax
Tommy Lasorda (Mgr)
Peewee Reese
Jackie Robinson
Duke Snyder
Don Sutton

2) How many World Series Championships have these teams won?

ANGELS: ONE-as "The Anaheim Angels" in 2002 (Disney owned the team).
DODGERS: SIX: 5 as the Los Angeles Dodgers, and 1 as the Brooklyn Dodgers.

3) How many Post Seasons did these teams make it too?

ANGELS: 6 (3 as California, 2 as Anaheim, 1 as L.A.)
DODGERS: 24

4) How many seasons did the Team's Home Game Attendance surpass 3 Million spectators?

ANGELS: 4 Seasons (2 seasons as the "Anaheim Angels" 2 as L.A.).
DODGERS: 21 Seasons.

When The Angels surpass our numbers, then come back to me and other Dodger Fans and talk about advocating Although, I may not be alive by then. I don't think a Vlad T-shirt in the window quite qualifies as grounds for advocating the throne.

If The Angels want to be L.A., MOVE!"

"I wear a "We are NOT L.A." Shirt at least once a week. I have gotten nothing but compliments from people, even people asking me where they could buy one of those shirts. DropLA.Com got a lot of referrals from me, and so they sent me two free shirts. On The Fourth of July when I was at the Supermarket, The check out lady complimented me, and I noticed she was wearing a Dodger Shirt. I told her, "I can see why you like my shirt." She said "Your correct, WE are L.A." Later that day when I went to visit my mother in The Rest Home ( she is not doing to well) my father was there (he's an Angels Fan but loathes the LA Name) and told him I wasn't a fan, and he told me "You are too an Angels Fan." I have begun to see things differently.

So far, these t-shirts and tank tops have been the most effective way to fight The LA Name. The people weraring these shirts are The TRUE FANS of this ball club. This never should have been a battle to be fought in court. "
